Last night I had my first Youth Group Show ever for Wrightsville Beach United Methodist Church in Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. It was an absolute adventure. I had recently told my wife, “I’ll just be sure to not tell jokes about everything, because that’s what teenagers hate, everything”. In volunteering with the youth at my own Church, I’ve learned that once you are out of that club, you are out. It is hard to be welcomed back in. Although I was very nervous, I had friends and family pray. Praise God, it went very well! The kids ranged from 11 to 17. What a wonderful range! From middle schoolers to soon-to-be-college-kids, they made me feel very welcome. I was given many nick names in just talking to them such as: Beardy, Beard Boy, Cat, and Leprechaun. In the end, we all had some awkward moments and a lot of laughs. A big thanks to Jackson and Christina Norvell.
