When I walked into LifePoint Church in Wilmington North Carolina, the first thing I saw was an inflatable Santa Clause with Sunglasses on a Motorcycle. \u00a0I saw Corn Hole Boards, a virgin margarita bar, and some of the most elaborate mariachi costumes I had ever seen. \u00a0It was very clear that this Church liked to have a good time.<\/p>\n
Some of my favorite things about this church? \u00a0They drink lots of coffee, their Pastor, Jeff Kapusta, has lots of tattoos, they’re located behind a liquor store, their parking lot people wear giant foam fingers to guide parking, and last week during their worship, they sang Twizted Sisters rendition of Oh Come All Ye Faithful.<\/p>\n
But more than anything, I love that LifePoint Church is place that points people to God. \u00a0It’s a place for those who are struggling, and are a work in progress. \u00a0It’s a place where\u00a0lives are changed, marriages are restored, and addictions are broken. Lifepoint has been on the front lines feeding the homeless, giving away free gas, honoring teachers, filling food pantries, providing Christmas gifts to underprivileged families, doing work projects at public schools, and a whole lot more. \u00a0Thank you to LifePoint Church for allowing me to perform and bring some laughter, and for continuing to be Christ and serve Christ in our community. \u00a0I had a great time, doing comedy at this volunteer appreciation night. \u00a0A big thanks goes out to Jen Barker on LifePoint staff for helping put the whole event on, and to Executive Pastor Daryl Strickland for giving me the inside scoop on the Church.<\/p>\n
